The Company
Add2X Biosciences has been incorporated in June 2004. We are a product-oriented biotechnology company committed to the development of innovative and improved agri-biotechnological and industrial products that are based on our proprietary genetic modification (GM) and protein delivery technologies.
Add2X delivers intermediate products, ready for large-scale production by Add2X’s clients and partners. Add2X’s products are e.g. prototype innovative seeds for crops, such as vegetables, corn, horticultural flowers, but also improved microorganisms (yeasts and fungi) and plants for large-scale production of pharmaceuticals and flavors.

Add2X Biosciences’ portfolio is based on proprietary platform technologies for the directed and efficient delivery of DNA and proteins into eukaryotic cells. Upon its incorporation, Add2X has obtained exclusive licenses on 3 patent families of Leiden University (LU). Since 2007, Add2X is licensing a fourth patent family of LU.
The company’s platform technologies allow the development of innovative products for a wide range of customers, including the agrochemical and pharmaceutical industry, seed companies, non-profit research institutions, and eventually the consumer.

We currently have new R&D programs through strategic partnerships with major players in the white and green biotechnology market:

(i) With DSM, Add2X is applying its technologies to develop improved microorganisms for production of pharmaceuticals, flavors, and other industrial products. Proof of principle for the Add2X approach was obtained early 2005.
(ii) With Keygene, Add2X is developing new and front-edged technologies for easy targeted DNA-transformation of plants with wanted properties.

Close collaborations with the research group at Leiden University, in which the platform was developed, and also with other academic and corporate research groups, will guarantee rapid adjustment of the technology for each new product line.
